The programme takes the form of a discussion about the books, characters and writing etc.

Dame Anne Salmond, winner of the Montana Medal for Non-Fiction for The Trial of the Cannibal Dog: Or Why Did Captain Cook Die.
(Briefly), Robert Sullivan (who now lives in Hawaii) one of the editors of Whetu Moana - Contemporary Polynesian Poetry, winner of the reference and anthology category (co-editors are Albert Wendt and Reina Whaitiri).
Annamarie Jagose, winner of the Deutz Medal for Fiction for Slow Water.
Rachel Barrowman, winner of the biography category for Mason.
At 17'35" Arno Gasteiger, winner of the illustrative section for Central.
David Hallett, the photographer for the LifeStyle category winner, Classic Fly Fishing in New Zealand Rivers written by John Kent
Peter Batson, Environment category) for Deep New Zealand: Blue Water, Black Abyss.
Poetry winner, Anne Kennedy reads (pre-recorded) poems from her book, Sing-song. She is in Hawaii, married to Robert Sullivan who now talks about Whetu Moana and Polynesia.
Dame Anne takes up the theme, quoting from her book.
Annamarie also reads a quote from her book.
Rachel then reads one of Mason's poems.
