Reporter Karen Fisher in Tonga for the South Pacific Forum; she says
that Jone Dakavula, Leader of the Coalition for Democracy in Fiji, has
tried to pass on letters to delegations confirming that deposed Fijian
Prime Minister Timoci Bavadra had asked him to speak on Bavadra's
behalf. She mentions the troubles that Dakavula has in Tonga and the
refusal of his entry into the Forum. At the Pacific Forum, Deputy Prime
Minister Geoffrey Palmer, speaks about New Zealand's main contribution
which will be a move to counter terrorism and hijacking in the South
Pacific region. He says that he is hopeful that a paper formulated on
the matter will be adopted by the forum.
