In this episode from the 1950s biographical radio series 'Portrait from Life" Cynthia Dale introduces the life of prominent New Zealand broadcaster Maud Ruby Basham, aka "Aunt Daisy."

The programme features narration by Dale and an extensive interview with Basham who was born Daisy Taylor in London, and then emigrated to New Zealand aged about 11 with her mother and sisters.
They settled in Waitara and she discusses her school-life in Taranaki.

She recalls her first broadcasting experience, the origin of her morning catchphrase, her attitude towards advertising, her overseas travels, and her experiences as a broadcasting celebrity.
