This recording is part of an episode of the magazine radio programme Canterbury Roundabout, broadcast on 09 Dec 1952.

An unidentified announcer accompanied by an unidentified doctor, takes a behind-the-scenes tour of new hospital facilities [Christchurch?] visiting a recovery room, operating theatre, sterilising room and dressing rooms. Details of each room are given.

This is followed by poet Denis Glover, who laments the demise of the Sumner tram, which has been replaced by a bus service.[The last tram ran 06 Dec 1952.]
