INTERNET-CRIME: A teenager who masterminded international cyber crime from his Coromandel home has walked free from court and may end up getting a job with the police.18 year old Owen Walker pleaded guilty to six fraud-related charges and was up for sentencing today in the High Court at Hamilton. RUGBY-DEATH: A 17-year-old schoolboy rugby player has died after breaking his neck. Robert Hickland had been selected for New Zealand under-17 training camps, and was playing for Feilding High School against Rathkeale College when he was injured. HEALTH-SFO: The Serious Fraud Office ihas decided there's no basis for an investigation into former Hawkes Bay District Health Board member Peter Hausmann. In May, the SFO received a complaint that Mr Hausmann, who is also the chief executive of Healthcare New Zealand Limited, had used his position on the Board to influence the awarding of health contracts to his companies. TAURANGA-ABDUCTION: The police in Tauranga say an arrest warrant will remain in place for a man they say has abducted a 14 year old girl. RETRIAL-DIXON: The accused murderer Antonie Dixon has told a court he was psychotic when he attacked two women with a samurai sword. But the crown says he's telling lies to make it seem that way. SCAM-CHRISTCHURCH: The police in Christchurch are warning of a telephone scam where callers contact local hotels seeking the credit card details of guests.Sergeant Graham Duncan says it's another variation of on-line scams which also seek credit card details.I asked him how this scam worked. PREREC
