Mrs Yvonne Canty of Auckland, a speaker of Esperanto, is interviewed about her travels to fourteen countries in Europe. She travelled in order to contact other speakers of Esperanto, which is a ‘constructed international auxiliary language’.

The possibility of a New Zealand export wine industry is discussed. A report on Australian wine exports to Britain is heard, with the comment that many of the details could also apply to New Zealand wines. London correspondent Barry Carmen describes the problem of overcoming disbelief among British consumers that Australia can produce quality wines. The problem of price must also be overcome, as 'Empire wines" are not much cheaper than European wines, due to a change in government policies.

A party of thirty-three American farmers is visiting New Zealand, arriving in Christchurch. Arnold Wall interviews one of the farmers, Glenn Sample of Indiana. The party are mostly cropping farmers, with one ranch owner and several "lady farmers" who operate their own properties. They will be in New Zealand for a month.

Producer Patrick Carey talks about a play "Tobias and the Angel" that he has been producing in the Wellington Botanic Gardens in the newly-built ‘Sound Shell’. He talks about the challenges of performing in the open-air for the first time, and then describes the play.
