General Rabuka succumbed to the urgings of a group of traditional chiefs from his home area of Cakaudrove province in the north of the country to take up an earlier offer to join the interim goverment.
He confirmed in Auckland this week that that's his intended power base for the upcoming general elections.

PINA director executive Tavake Fusimalohi has emphasised that PINA as an organisation did not endorse what happened in Fiji.
Mr Fusimalohi says it's been a PINA tradition to invite to its conference porminent people who make the news in the pacific region.
