The new minister of Island affairs is Don McKinnon and in just under a year he has travelled extensively to build a rapport with the goverment and peoples of the pacific region.

Mr Peter Malcolm speaks about environmental issues and the Greenpeace organisation. He makes it quiet clear that there's a big difference between this Greenpeace mission to French Polynesia and the last. He further states that the Greenpeace yatch has already been bombed and sunk during its lifetime, by the Japanese during world war two.

The editor and publisher of the Fiji Womens newspaper, Bernadette Ganilau, was a panelist at the recent Pacific Island News Assoc confernce in Auckland when the issue of career women in the Pacific was discussed.
