Rev Māori Marsden speaking before the Waitangi Tribunal on the Orakei Marae, August 1985 in support of Ngāti Whatua's claim for the return of their land at Bastion Point. He speaks about the alienation of his people from the land, the Turangawaewae concept, equality with kin and other citizens living in Auckland, the marae as the hearth for education, mauri in the land and the world of senses: spiritual,sense, and symbols.

Māori Marsden died at his home in Te Koopuru last week (26.06.93)
Māori Marsden was a scholar, a theologian, a war veteran, 12 years chaplin for the Navy, and a man who crusaded for social justice for his people.
