Selwyn Muru presents a programme about reviving te reo Māori and pays tribute to Pākehā speakers of Māori, who have joined in the realm of the marae.

He speaks to Father Durning, who spent almost forty years along the Whanganui River and speaks eloquent Māori.

The former Governor General of New Zealand Sir Bernard Fergusson, (now Lord Ballantrae) made a huge impression on the Māori people during his visits to the many marae of Māoridom as he spoke with eloquence.

Selwyn speaks with Dr Anne Salmond, a historian, author and lecturer at Auckland University, who speaks fluent te reo Māori..
