Walker, Ranginui, 1932-2016
Mahuta, Robert Te Kotahi 1939-2001 (b.1939)

Dr. Ranginui Walker, lecturer at Auckland University speaking with Selwyn
Muru on his views about an urban multi racial Marae being built in Auckland.

It was an intitive prompted by the Māori people living at Otara, who realised
that they were living in a multi racial area, with Māori from all tribal areas of
New Zealand as well as people of the Pacific Islands, with Pakeha neighbours
as well.
Whilst it was a good idea and that Ranginui Walker was co opted on to the
committee, there was still alot of work still to be done.

Other speakers included Mrs Merimeri Penfold, Vice President of the Māori Womens
Welfare League and lecturer at Auckland University and Mr. Robert Mahuta
also a lecturer at Auckland University.
