Te Waka Toi.

Apamoana Marae in Rotorua was the venue for was the venue for the Māori Arts Council, Te Waka Toi wananga of Contemporary and Indigenous Visual arts.

More than fourty of the artists came from as far away as main land USA, Hawaii, and the South Pacific region, and is match by Māori Artists including Robyn Kahukiwa, Gabriel Bells, Fred Graham, Darcy Nicholas, Sandy Asett, Arnold Wilsona and many others... Two stuning exhebitions works by the artists are on display at the Rotorua District Council Galeria and the Hei Tiki Gallery in Whakarewarewa. A huge marquee has been set up at Apamoana and as you enter there are all sorts of sounds from artists, Darcy Nicholas on his power tool sanders on a carving he is completing, Fred Graham with mallett and chisel, so too are other
artists.
