Tribute concert to the late Hori Tait.

Hōri Tait, Te Arawa and Ngāi Tuhoe Kaumatua, whaikorero expert, composer, raconteur and a staunch friend of Te Reo o Aotearoa, organised an evening of cultural performances under his personal philosophy of lifting New Zealand's cultures within his concept of entertainment.

He gave this philosophy a name,"Mauri Hikitia" - "life force uplifting". George approached groups from within the area as well as out of the Auckland area.

There was the "Maungarongo" Pacific group from Ohakune, his own whānau group that he formed to take part in the 1980 South Pacific Festival of Arts in Port Moresby, a Yugoslav group, a Chilean pipe player, vocalist Dean Waretini and many others.

He organised cultural evenings to benefit the Mt. Smart Stadium, the NZ Polynesian Festival, the Māori Cultural Arts Training scheme, Telethon, and other projects. The Turakina Māori Girls College was also to benefit and excerpts from this concert were recorded.

However, the concert became a memorial to Hōri as he died two weeks prior to the concert taking place.
- Performing groups included: Te Manawa cultural group.
- Rulando Hofman playing the Chilean pipe.
- Dean Waretini: Waipuna o te Aroha.
- Te Manawa group.
