SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY: Why Māori do and Pacific Islanders under
achieve in Science and Technology was debated at an International
Conference which ended in Wellington Friday tenth May.
Experts say the question of intelligence is not the issue so why do Māori and
Pacific students under achieve in these subjects.

TRADE MISSION: A trade mission to Tonga, Western and American Samoa by
the Auckland Manufacturing Association, (AMA) at the end of the month could
help the three Pacific countries emensly. AMA feel the three Pacific countries
economies are growing and its opening trade opportunities.

BUSSINESS COUNCIL: The New Zealand PNG Bussiness Council is looking to
have a double tax agreement between the two countries and are looking to NZ's

EYE SPECIALISTS: A group of eye specialist flew to Tonga and other parts
of the Pacific on a voluntary basis to visit areas where people do not have
ready access to eye specialists.

FIJIANS in the NORTH: Fijians living in Northland have launched an Association
to address their needs. The Northland FIJI Assc Incorporated is a Muli-cultural
group of Fijians, Indians and others who were either born in FIJI or associated
with FIJI in other ways.
