South Pacific Festival of Arts: tape 4/5.

One of the outstanding events during the festival was the....."Christian Celebration"
held at Albert Park, when the groups from the various countries marched through
"Suva City, and assembled on the Park grounds before a great gathering of
people.

- The Interdenominational service was conducted in modern form with the youth
featuring through out.............The offical song was sung, a composition by a
Fijian/ Te Atamakirere and appropiately called ..."Brothers of the Isles".

- waiata: Brothers of Isles.
- ethnic fishing song of the Solomon Islands/ Uia mai ?? and a group song,
with bamboo instruments.
- National Cook Islands theatre group perform..................
- American Samoa choral arrangement sing......................
- American Samoan sit down action song......................... "Sasa" ??
- Waihirere : Peruperu/ Ka tutuki na./ Waiata-a-ringa / Te Arawa na hau te
karanga.
- Australian Aboriginies perform their ethnic dances depicting birds, animals,
and reptiles and their ancient legends were a highlight for people attending the
festival.

- closing theme song / Ko Turanga wahine, ko turanga tane.
