Charles explains how the borough of Eltham connects to the county, with a combined effort in running a ‘free library’, county library, which allows every ratepayer free books from eighteen years of age. There are plans to extend the Eltham Free Library.

There is a steady development in Eltham with no empty shops or empty houses and more houses and shops planned.

Eltham has equal living conditions to other parts of the country such as water, drainage, electric, light and gas. The parks, pleasure grounds, good roads and streets. The railway, buses, schools all contribute to Eltham’s good living conditions.

Charles explains how he has travelled around the world and says he has always come back to Eltham and New Zealand, which he believes are the best town and country to live in.
