Royal Polynesian Festival Update:

Information on the progress of the Māori welcome to her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, and the Royal Festival of Arts to be held in Gisborne
February 1977.
- kaikōrero : Wiremu Kerekere.
- two items being presented are the Haka pohiri.
- waiata-a-ringa : Karangatia e te Iwi, te Manu Kotuku.

- People who will be speaking are Sir Hēnare Ngata and Arch-deacon Ihaka.
- the three groups to perform are Tairawhiti, Te Roopu Manutaki and four
Polynesian groups................Cook Island group.

Wiremu Kerekere, announces the order of performances by the participating teams.

- South Taranaki group / waiata tawhito..Taku nohonga ki roto i te ao.
- Mawai Hakona: waiata-a-ringa : Haere mai e nga Iwi e, ki runga o Rotorua e.
- Waihirere : No rei enga Iwi hoki atu ra.
