Māori Affairs Symposium : Professor John Roberts moderator of the Symposium of the School of Political Science and Public Administration at Victoria University.

Excerpts taken from the Māori Affairs Tu Tangata Wananga Whakatauira which was held in Wellington last week on 28th October.
This symposium brought together goverment officials who administer
the affairs of indigenous peoples in Canada, USA, Hawaii, Australia, and New Zealand.

Discussions were held under several broad headings:
The Political origins and Development of Administratve Service.
- The Recognition of Cultural Identity
- Relationships with Indigenous Community
- The Indigenous community and the rest of Society
- Protection of Indigenous land rights
- Social prejudice against Indigenous communities
- structure of administration.
