Jon Janassen of the Cook Islands is a noted Cook Islands' cultural expert, drummer, song composer, cultural group leader, writer and former official with the Cook Islands Ministry of Culture. He played a leading government role during the 6th Festival of Pacific Arts hosted by the Cook Islands in Rarotonga in 1992.

On 4.8.95, Hēnare te Ua interviewed him at his home in Rarotonga about his life's interests and aspects as outlined above.
