FESTIVAL OF PACIFIC ARTS (MAIRE NUI) RAROTONGA 1992:

Opening of the Sir Geoffrey Henry National Cultural Centre in Rarotonga. Hēnare te Ua speaks with the Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Jon Jonassen about the Centre and begins asking about the giant slit drums which adorn the front building of the three building complex. The drums made from NZ Totara were beaten during the opening ceremonies. They speak about the giant carved figure, Manava Rangatira, "spirit of the navigator".

Ranginui Fariu, Cook Islands broadcaster speaks about people who are attending the ceremonies. (Rangi Fariu, a medical doctor was medical officer with the Te Reo O Aotearoa 18 member team.
