In 1991, a group of "Tumu Kōrero", Cook Islands waka (vaka) spokespersons toured certain Aotearoa waka areas.
The group travelled to Waitangi, Kawhia, Whangaparaoa, Tokomaru Bay and to Whangara before returning to Auckland.
Eight Cook Islands Tumu Kōrero are welcomed at the Cook Islands Consulate, Auckland, 19th November 1991
