The blessing of the Papatoetoe studio on the eve of Te Reo o Aoteroa moving into their offices in Central Auckland. The service took the form of a "hiki mauri" or life force is entrusted to the safekeeping of the Rev Rua Rekena, head of the Māori Section of the Methodist Church, who will place it in the Auckland offices.

It was a moving ceremony in a barren office which was the home of Te Reo o Aoteroa since 1978. Many tears were shed, and colleagues kua ngaro ki te po were remembered.
