Nigel Purdie, a Rarotongan motel owner is interviewed about the damage caused by Cyclone Sally, which destroyed his property and washed televisions and refrigerators out to sea. Six inches of sand was left inside the rooms by the high waves. However, 15 days after the cyclone he was able to reopen.

An interview with Auckland University's Professor Tony Hooper about New Zealand's first Pacific Studies course, which will be run in the second half of this year. Dr Hao'ofa, professor of sociology at the University of the South Pacific will be lecturing for several weeks about Tonga, Iosefa Maiiava, a PhD Political Science student from the East-West Centre in Honolulu will lecture on Samoa and Nick Lewis from the Cook Islands will do most of the tutoring.
