Kaikōrero, Hiko Hohepa, explains that Tama Te Kapua means 'son of the clouds'. He speaks about whakapapa and genealogy from the year 800, Tipuna Vi Eroa down to fourteen generations. Marama married Hoturoa and the whakapapa is direct down to today.

An unidentified Cook Island speaker explains their (Tama Te Kapua) Te Mata Kapua / The eye of the cloud, the eye of the creator as in the Cooks. Kaikōrero: Mauriora Kingi.
