600TH ANNIVERSARY, LANDING OF THE CANOES 2:
This anniversary was held at Tūrangawaewae Marae in Ngāruawāhia. A group of Tūhoe people sing a welcome waiata about waka. A group from Waitōtara sing a waiata also about waka. Now a group from Rotorua with a poi song called ‘Take te whero’. A group from Rarotonga with a typical Cook Island chant, and finally from the Rangitoto Māori Choir of Auckland, ‘Pōkarekare ana’.
