In 1959, Gwenda Jenkins began work as a nurse and midwife alongside missionaries in the isolated highland interior of Papua New Guinea. It was eleven years before Gwenda finally returned to New Zealand. Gwenda Jenkins recalls her years in Papua New Guinea in
