Anei ngā kōrero mō ngā whakataetae tākaro. This is a report on local sports events in the Waikato. Waikato travelled to compete againgst the Manawatū.

In the Senior Firsts, Glen Afton played the Hillcrest Hornets. Glen Afton won. The Thames Wanderers played against Huntly United. The Thames Wanderers won. In the Senior Seconds, the Thames Wanderers played Taniwharau. The Thames Wanderers won.

Jim Rutene reports on planned sporting events for the upcoming Koroneihana celebrations. The New Zealand Māori team will play the Waikato Māori, the Niue Auckland team will play the Tokelau Auckland team. There will also be a goal kicking and a sprinting competition.

The following Sunday, the Waikato Māori team will play the challengers Tāmaki Makaurau.

Upcoming tournaments include squash, followed by golf. The netball season will be starting soon. There is an upcoming women’s and mixed team touch competition.
