The Clean are a New Zealand band who are closely identified with the “Dunedin Sound” championed and promoted by the Flying Nun records label. The 3 piece band consists (typically) of brothers Hamish and David Kilgour and Robert Scott (The Bats), but has had other band members who are also notable members of the Flying Nun roster of bands. The Clean have released a number of albums, singles and EP’s with “Beatnik”, “Point That Thing Somewhere Else”, “Anything Could Happen” and “Tally Ho!” being their best known songs.

This is the music video for “Getting Older” which was released as a 7” single and also appeared on the “Oddities” compilation album from The Clean.

This video was made by the artist Ronnie Van Hout and features Robert Scott in a hat and coat walking past brick walls and into dilapidated factory and warehouse space. apartment. He then enters a kitchen area where he hangs a curtain across the window and covers pictures hanging on the wall before taking photographs of himself from a suitcase. The video ends with Robert Scott sitting in a chair seeing himself standing on the other side of the room.
