The debut long-player from Auckland-based DJ/Production duo Christiaan Ercolano and Emerson Todd is a poppy, upbeat affair, and probably the most commercially accessible long-player released by any NZ-based dance producers. Disco loops and uplifting vocals carry most of the album, Sydney-based vocalist Tulele Falatolo could pass for any of his capriciously-lunged US counterparts. The singles 'Whatever Comes' and 'Downtown Groove' (the closing credit tune from 'Stickmen') standout, as does the anthemic 'Rise Above' and the Cook Island drumming-driven 'Cookin'. Overall, a great debut from these two guys and a healthy sign of where NZ's house community (part of it at least) is heading. Recommended.
