2:14:07 People downhill skiing. Woman and child using the tow-rope (Bill Hamilton designed and built the first rope ski tow in New Zealand in 1947). Further skiing scenes.
2:16:09 Crowd of Island [Tongan or Niuean] men, women, and children from a high angle. Crowd gathered on concrete wharf. Jeep loaded with people slowly travels through. View of inlet at low tide, [a castle can be seen nestled amongst the trees]. On the wharf activity continues with a steady flow of foot traffic and cycle cabs. Scenic views of island and sea at dusk. Houses in the hills with night lights on. In the daylight, two rowboats can be seen on the water. Crowd gathering in village street [waiting for the bus]. On board ship a man plays the guitar while an Island man and women dance in front of the other passengers. On dry land a crowd has gathered and the young people perform some traditional dances. Boys racing on stilts. Two running boys hold a bamboo stick between them while a third boy holds on to the stick and tries to keep his feet off the ground. Women performing a dance, and dancing with the visitors. On the water at night. Back on the boat another man and woman join in the the dancing.
