‘WERO’, is a magazine lifestyle programme profiling the outrageously flamboyant, socially marginalised, gloriously exuberant, politically shunned, gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender and intersex community.
‘WERO’ formerly known as Takatāpui was chosen as a name replacement to challenge the gay community to be ever vigilant. That the health and welfare of its people is paramount as it seeks visibility, acceptance and prosperity. ‘WERO’ is also a challenge to straight communities, to be embracive of diversity, not only sexual orientation but diversity of religion, diversity of politics and diversity of race.”
