Several well known women politicians and Maori women, leaders in their field, speak of the struggles women have had in order to make it to the top. Women are surveyed in various roles and occupations: politics; business; law; health; and motherhood. The film is interspersed with archival footage and stills.

Episode 1 - Power. The history of female suffrage, protest, political issues and the treatment of women in parliament is explored through interviews with Pakeha and Maori women across the political spectrum:
