A Māori fishing representative will attend an international conservation congress in Hawaii next week hoping to make a better connection with other indigenous fishing people. Maru Samuels of the Iwi Collective Partnership says he wants to ensure Māori are involved at this level of conservation so that global policies do not impact our economic and social outcomes.
