Twenty-eight passengers are on board the giant American flying boat Boeing 314 Clipper when it lands in Auckland’s harbour after an 8000 mile flight from the United States to New Zealand. The 42 ton ship will make regular Pan American Airways services to the Dominion. Thousands were at the harbour base to welcome the delegation. The New Zealand Post Master General Webb welcomes Captain J.H. Tilton. The mail is unloaded by the postmen. The Flying Boat ZK-AMA lands in Sydney Harbour. Men are shown undoing mail bags from New Caledonia.
