After the funeral of writer Ronald Hugh Morrieson, a group of friends make their way in the hearse to a small country pub. They reminisce about Ron and his fall from a respectable young man to an alcoholic musician.

Flashbacks reconstruct Morrieson’s life. Having never really come to terms with the passing of his mother, he virtually became a recluse whose past catches up with him. To end his misery, he takes an overdose.
