Footage taken during the cultural visit of the Tumu Kōrero Cultural Exchange between Kaumātua of the Cook Islands and Aotearoa. The group visit various marae in the North Island to learn about marae protocol, tikanga, whakapapa depicted in the carvings, tukutuku etc. of marae. Stories of ancestors, beliefs etc. were also exchanged during discussions between the Maori and Cook Island groups.

The Tumu Koōero from the Cook Islands visit various marae in the North Island. Te Hono Ki Rarotonga, Tokomaru Bay; Te Tii Marae, Waitangi; a visit to Aurere to see the waka under construction by Hector Busby; to Matauri Bay - Mataatua Waka; farewell for Sam Davis; back to Te Hono Ki Rarotonga Tokomaru Bay; finally a visit to Whangarā at the end of the journey.
