Ruth Makaila in a century of change she remains unchanged, firmly rooted in the world of the aina, the land and the kai the sea.
In July 8th,1995 Tutu’s 13 children, 52 grandchildren, 76 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, many relatives and friends gathered in Hilo to celebrate her 90th Birthday.
This documentary focuses on the hardships and difficult times Tutu had in raising a family of 13 children with very little money. Her knowledge of living off the land and from the sea is astounding for a woman of her age.
