The plight of the Kanaks under the rule of the French Government.

Noumea is the capital city of New Caledonia and the centre of Government. The French continue to rule this South Pacific Island from Paris, 20,000 km away.

The fertile land in New Caledonia is all owned and farmed by the Caldosh, the French settlers, while the Kanaks have been dispossessed of their tribal lands and forced to live on small infertile reserves.
