[First edit of] an observational documentary on the 6th Festival of Pacific Arts, Rarotonga, Cook Islands. Film shows preparations being made, people arriving and being greeted. Prince Edward arrives and is carried in a chair by a number of men. At the opening ceremony the different country groups perform in the field. Groups arrive by ocean having made the journey by traditional navigational methods. Various groups perform at different locations on the island. A man receives a traditional tattoo. Traditional crafts are displayed including carving and tivaevae.
