This film tells of life among the Polynesian people of the Cook Islands in Moana Roa, their name for the Pacific Ocean.

Includes scenes of the island’s landscape, industry, economic and cultural development under New Zealand administration. Fish spearing, under-water scenes and racing in swift sailing canoes along the lagoons feature.

Administration, health services, education and development work, exports of copra, oranges, bananas and pineapples are also shown. Native singing and dancing, including some of the best hula dancing ever filmed.
