The United States space shuttle Challenger flew over New Zealand about ten minutes ago, but couldn’t be seen without special equipment. Meanwhile the astronauts on board have spent most of the day trying to restore communication links with Earth.

Norway scrambled two F-16 fighter jets today to head off an American airliner which had drifted to within fifteen minutes of the Soviet Union. Just over a year ago a South Korean airliner was shot down after entering Soviet airspace.

Customs Officers don’t like looking at “blue movies” according to a departmental report to the Minister of Customs. They have to judge whether movies are indecent or not, and officers don’t relish their role as defenders of public morals and want someone else to do the job.

A full scale replica of Stonehenge may be built to save the monument from further damage.
