Dr Ranginui Walker presents a programme which comments on the media. He comments and critiques the media coverage of Maori affairs and the accusation of mono-culturalism in the media and the failure to show the Maori viewpoint. A speech is shown on film by a young Maori at the investiture of Sir Graham Latimer and Dame Whina Cooper at Waitangi in 1981. The media covers this event underlining the violence, although the riot charges brought by the Police were dismissed 11 months later. The military coup in Fiji is also misrepresented, says Walker. Walker points out that the media are fuelling the flames of Maori unrest in this country.
