Angela d’Audney presents the news. There was tension in the air today as the Clyde Dam workforce went back on the job after a 17 week strike, alongside strike breakers. Prime Minister David Lange and Finance Minister Roger Douglas today told Government department heads they must implement spending cuts that have been described as the most ruthless in the past 25 years, as move which has been accepted by the Cabinet.

Margaret Bazley, Sec. of Transport Designate, is interviewed in the studio regarding her new job in the climate of spending cuts. The FLNKS and Loyalist representatives have signed an agreement in France, expected to ease tensions between the two sides. Dr Alan Clark, Snr Lecturer, Canterbury University is interviewed in the studio regarding the situation in New Caledonia.
