Both New Zealand and Australia are working on plans for a possible evacuation of nationals if the situation worsens in Papua New Guinea, the Navy frigate Canterbury is due to leave Auckland tonight en route for Australia and South East Asia, passing close by Papua New Guinea, but will not be in the region for at least a week.
