Two tribes from Tainui and Taranaki have agreed to form a joint venture under one banner to commence negotiations regarding their claims throughout the top half of the South Island with the Government. Agreement was signed and witnessed by new Minister of Treaty claims Michael Cullen at Whakatu Marae in Nelson.
