The adventures of Jim (James) Siers who set out from the Gilbert Islands in a specially commissioned voyaging outrigger canoe, built by the Islanders according to their traditional skills and design, and sailed by them 1500 miles across the Pacific to Fiji. The aim of the voyage was to prove that in pre European times, Pacific Islanders had the technology and the seafaring ability to navigate the Pacific Ocean.
